Notes for Ice of March

7 Mar 2024 by Rick Kish

Hey Everyone,

I wanted to send along a quick message and notes for this weekend’s tournament games. As many of you know, I will be the acting Head Coach for this weekend. In addition, several new players will be joining us. With that in mind, I wanted to lay out a few of the plans and guidelines for the weekend.

1 – Please arrive one hour before the scheduled game time.

Games can start up to 15 minutes before the scheduled start time; thus, arriving early and being prepared will help us be prepared in the event that games are running ahead of schedule. In addition, the team can drop off their gear in the locker rooms and perform a stretch/warm-up routine, headed up by the team captains, soon after their arrival.

2 – Dress Code

No formal dress code for players attending the game is required. I recommend that players dress business casually, if possible (jeans, slacks, polo).
.
Please bring appropriate clothes for a light warm-up and stretch.

3 – Pre-Game Routine

-:60 – Arrival to the Rink
-:55 – Stretch/Warm-Up led by Team Captains
-:40 – Players to Locker Rooms
-:15 – Pre-Game Strategy Sessions with Coaches
-:00 – Hit the Ice for Warm-ups

should run 10-15 minutes, with players proceeding to the locker room and getting prepared for the game

4 – Jerseys and Socks

Current North Coast players should bring their NCC uniforms to the game. Guest players will be loaned socks and practice-style jerseys for the games.

Additional info

I will have a team set of water bottles players are welcome to use. However, I do recommend that players bring their own water bottles to the games, especially if they prefer a sports drink or other means of hydration during the games. Don’t forget to bring a spare stick and have it on the bench during the games if possible.

Please let me know if anyone can help handle the penalty box for games.

As many of our coaches are juggling schedules over the weekend, I expect to have at least one guest assistant coach helping me out.

Thanks again for being part of the team. I look forward to a fun and competitive weekend of hockey. If you have any questions please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,

Rick
